2023/05/06: LIFE INSULAR participates in a networking event with LIFE IP Wild Atlantic Nature

The IBADER of the #Terra Campus, in its capacity as coordinating beneficiary of the LIFE INSULAR project, attended the annual monitoring meeting of the LIFE IP PAF-WILD ATLANTIC NATURE project. The meeting allowed us to evaluate the progress of the project during the last year.

The visit was of great interest since the IBADER members were able to give a good account of the progress made during the last year of the working group in southern Europe for the conservation of peat bog ecosystems. The results achieved with the studies relating to the impact of wind farms on European peat bogs, and the successive studies and investigations evaluating the different impact processes on peat bogs worldwide, aroused great interest among CINEA representatives. .

The day ended with a visit to the project locations, in which interesting exchanges were held with the partners involved in the project: Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH); Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM); Bord in the Móna; Teagasc; Failté Ireland; Raidio Teilifis Eireann (RTÉ); The Heritage Council; Northern & Western Regional Assembly (NWRA); Coillte Nature.
