Yesterday the video The island of the pollinators, produced by the University of Vigo in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia, was presented at the Visitor Center of the Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of Illas Atlánticas de Galicia.
The animated short film was made with the support and advice, among others, of the Department of Biology of the University of Vigo. The objective of the short film is to publicize the role that pollinator insects play in the environment and raise awareness about the importance of their conservation. In addition to the audio-visual, an itinerant exhibition was also presented, aimed at disseminating the important role of pollinators.
These two initiatives are part of the dissemination initiatives of the LIFE INSULAR project of which the Xunta de Galicia is a part and which, in line with the video and the exhibition, works for the preservation of the island habitats of Cíes, Ons and Sálvora, as well as in other protected areas of an insular nature in the Canary Islands and Ireland.
