2023/04/12: Signed the agreement between the National Parks Autonomous Organization and the University of Santiago de Compostela for the LIFE INSULAR project

In accordance with the provisions of the Legal Regime of the Public Sector and once signed by the parties on April 11, 2023, the agreement for the development of the LIFE INSULAR project was published in the Official State Gazette.

The signing was carried out between Antonio López Díaz, Rector of the University of Santiago de Compostela, acting on behalf of the University of Santiago de Compostela, and Javier Pantoja Trigueros, Director of the National Parks Autonomous Organization (OAPN).

The University of Santiago de Compostela is the coordinating beneficiary of the transnational project between Spain and Ireland "Insular Life-Integrated Strategy for the sustainable management of insular habitats on Natura 2000 islands in the Atlantic Ocean" (LIFE20 NAT/ES/001007), while The OAPN participates as an associated beneficiary in the aforementioned LIFE INSULAR project together with other entities such as the General Directorate of Natural Heritage (DXPN), the Empresa de Transformación Agraria, S.A., S.M.E., M.P. (TRAGSA), the Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage, and Coillte CGA.

The purpose of this agreement is to establish the collaboration framework between USC and OAPN in relation to the project "INSULAR LIFE, Integrated Strategy for the sustainable management of insular habitats on Natura 2000 islands in the Atlantic Ocean".
