On May 26, 2022, on the occasion of the celebration of the Natura 2000 Day and its 30th anniversary in Europe, organized by Mariñas Coruñesas e Terras do Mandeo Biosphere Reserve at the Centro de Extensión Universitaria y Divulgación Ambiental de Galicia (CEIDA, Castelo de Santa Cruz, Oleiros), LIFE INSULAR project (LIFE20 NAT/ES/001007) was presented to the audience, along with other projects such as LIFE TREMEDAL (LIFE11 NAT/ES/000707), LIFE BACCATA (LIFE15 NAT/ES/ 000790), LIFE FLUVIAL (LIFE16 NAT/ES/000771) and LIFE On Machair (LIFE20 NAT/IE/000263).
The contribution of LIFE INSULAR, which has just started, has been made through a brief presentation of the foreseen objectives and results. The event was very interesting and benefitting to the entire audience, which included public administration workers, representatives of local environmental groups and members of nearby local communities. The event was completed with a visit to the locations of LIFE FLUVIAL project in the Natura 2000 areas located at Mandeo's river estuary (on the left bank in lands belonging Bergondo municipality) and Cecebre reservoir (on lands belonging Abegondo and Cambre municipalities).
