On June 21, 2022, LIFE INSULAR (LIFE20 NAT/ES/001007) attended the INVASAQUA Networking Special Symposium, which was held at the IX Iberian Ichthyology Congress (SIBIC) of 2022, in Porto (Portugal).
LIFE INSULAR presented the strategy foreseen by the project regarding the elimination and control of plant invasive species on natural habitats in Natura 2000. LIFE INSULAR's contribution to the event was of great interest, complementing the actions on fauna invasive species contributed by the rest of attending projects:

The main conclusions of the round table pointed the need to focus efforts on the control and early detection of invasive species by all the stakeholders, cooperation between public entities when facilitating eradication campaigns, or considering public dissemination and environmental awareness as a powerful tool to increase sensitization of society about biodiversity conservation problems caused by invasive species.
