2022/06/24: The LIFE INSULAR project receives the annual monitoring visit by the European Commission

Between May 18 and 20, 2022, the LIFE INSULAR project (LIFE20 NAT/ES/001007), of which IBADER is or its coordinating beneficiary, received an annual follow-up visit by representatives of the European Commission, through its NEEMO external monitoring team. The visit consisted of a technical and administrative meeting on May 18 at the headquarters of the Maritime-Terrestrial National Park of the Atlantic Islands of Galicia, where it was possible to review the progress of the project up to date. On the following days, two field visits were made, on May 19 to the Cíes archipelago, and on May 20 to the Ons archipelago, island territories that are part of the National Park and are included in the Natura 2000 Network.

LIFE INSULAR is a transnational project between Spain and Ireland, which works to further implement and post an integrated strategy to improve the state of conservation of two insular habitats in the Atlantic Ocean integrated into the Natura 2000 Network, and its adaptation against derived effects of climate change, in order to advance in the restoration of the natural landscapes that these territories presented for more than half a century.
